Behold

The sky went dark for hours
The Son of God took away all sin
A Roman looked up in wonder
He said the Son of God was surely him

And even though he was nailed to a cross
He was raised for all to see

Behold the Lamb of God
Who chose to lay down his life

Behold the Holy One
Whose wounds of love could be seen
In his hands, his feet, his side

And though his Mother wept
His Father looked down from above
We could not comprehend the lengths
That God would go to restore his love

A crown of thorns upon his head
He took the place of you and me

Behold the Lamb of God
Who chose to lay down his life

Behold the Holy One
Whose wounds of love could be seen
In his hands, his feet, his side

They gambled for his clothes
He loved them still
They spit at Him in the street
He loved them still
They said he was a blasphemer
He said Father forgive them
They do not know what they do

Behold the Lamb of God
Who chose to lay down his life
Behold the Holy One
Whose wounds of love could be seen
In his hands, his feet, his side
